Emergency Substitute Chapter for 3.10

The Emergency Chapter System was invented by Cupid Winter, 3rd Generation Heir.
These chapters will be used in the event that the current head of the legacy meets an untimely demise. These chapters will only be used if a situation arises where an heir is already chosen but he is not of an age to take control of the legacy and there is no adult Sim on the lot. The Emergency Chapter System allows a Sim of blood relation to the direct family line (that is, the Sim must be a descendant of the Legacy Founder) to move onto the lot until the heir reaches a suitable age. The Substitute must be a Young Adult, Adult or Elder.

Shayne was frustrated, his driving instructor was just too judgmental. Her jumping and shrieking was scaring him, if they died tonight it would be her fault.

"Stop!" The tires screeched.

"What!" An exasperated Shayne screamed at the woman.

"Stop sign."

Shayne stared at the woman, his eyes narrowed. "Get out."

"What?"

"Get your crazy ass outta my car!!!"

"You can't drive without me, you don't have a license."

Shayne eventually pushed the woman out of the car and sped away --as fast as his terrible driving would allow.

Living with Feliz did not turn out the way Cupid thought. She used to be the cool aunt until she moved in, Cupid was fed up, he swore that if she said one more thing to him about his homework or chores he would stab her in the eye with his pencil.

Every day he was a bit more thankful that he had Jasmin in his life, his cousin prevented him from committing the homicide he wanted to so badly.

Other than his brother, Jasmin was his favorite person in the entire world. She was the one person who wasn't intimidated by him. He was fascinated by his cousin, she was a girl, but she was completely different from Snowie's girls, she could take a hit without whining, she was the one person who could keep up with him, not even Shayne could do that.

Shortly after Feliz moved in, another problem presented itself. Feliz's boyfriend Pawel Paulson was the biggest pain in the ass Cupid had ever met. He treated Cupid and Shayne like charity cases and he tried to be their father, undermining Rudolph whenever he could. Rudolph's death was mysterious, only Cupid and Shayne knew what their father had become and knew about the pile of ashes he had become. They saw to his preparation and burial and managed to convince the police not to investigate. Feliz had led her boyfriend to believe that Rudolph had drank himself out of this world.

Much to the boys' disgust, their aunt and Pawel were affectionate all the time, kissing, touching, giggling.

Rudolph's room was the most comfortable in the house and Feliz moved in, the thought of what she and Pawel did on their father's bed disgusted the boys. Soon Feliz became Mrs. Pawel Paulson and she and Pawel began to spend a lot of time in Rudolph's room, only emerging to torment the boys, shower and eat.

Cupid never gave a damn about what anybody thought of him, so when he began to act out in protest against his aunt and new uncle, their constant shouting didn't phase him. Cupid had always loved his younger brother, but he had never been protective of Shayne until he had reason to and he made it perfectly clear that he was the only one allowed to yell at the younger teen, although Shayne and Cupid were completely different. Shayne disconnected from his harsh reality by putting more time into his studies and extra curricular activities.

When Feliz got pregnant, she and Pawel had nearly taken over the house. Cupid became more aggressive, he wasn't afraid to assert himself, he was the legacy heir and he wouldn't let Feliz or Pawel's insignificant ass forget it.

"My wife is pregnant," Pawel was telling Cupid, "And she doesn't need to be stressed out."

"Oh yeah? Then that's a good reason for you two to shut the fuck up."

"You're a disrespectful little punk Cupid, what the hell was Rudolph teaching you?"

"How to have a backbone. You mad?"

Pawel walked away before the argument heated up, he had underestimated the boy once and nearly had his head bashed through a wall.

In Feliz's mind, this was the house she had grown up to, so she had more right to be respected inside it and live how she pleased than her brother's sons, especially Cupid's disrespectful butt. She didn't want to hate her son, but since she moved out of this house she had become accustomed to getting what she wanted and Cupid wasn't giving her what she wanted.

As Feliz got bigger, her attitude got worst, she wanted to sit around all day without having to do anything, which meant she found more and more chores for the boys. Cupid put up with it for a while, but eventually he put his foot down which meant he and Shayne did what he thought was necessary.

Cupid eventually had enough of his aunt and her husband, and laid down the law. He gave them until she had the baby to be in his house, then they would have to leave. So Feliz went to find her brother.

"Ooo, you let big bad Cupid kick you out?" Ice teased his sister.

"That boy is the devil, good luck." She told her brother.

"He's a little Rudy, what do you expect from him?"

"I expect him to have some manners like Shayne." Feliz told Ice, "He's disrespectful and he cusses like a sailor. He hit my husband."

Ice smirked. "Well, I can handle him, I'm Rudolph's big brother and I had his bratty ass under control."

Ice placed his hand on his little sister's stomach. "So, when am I gonna meet my niece or nephew?"

"Any day now." Feliz sighed, she had no idea where she and Pawel were going to live, she had given up her house to assist her nephews, the ungrateful SOBs.

Feliz went into labor that night, pain ripped through her abdomen. Feliz knew immediately that this would be her only child, she was not the type to lay shrieking on a bed with  people looking at her...unmentionables.

The real test would come after JaQwan was born, Feliz was her parents' baby girl, and she never had to take care of Navidad because they were born so close together.

As soon as she got home she called Ice, letting him know that she was out of the hospital and Pawel had found them a place to stay, she was leaving immediately.

For Ice, being in his parents' house was strange without them there. There was a burglary his first night in the house but he wasn't at all surprised when he saw who was standing in the living room.

"Sharla, you're going to jail."

"Ice Winter, you're not going to let them take me away."

"I wouldn't if you weren't really going to steal from me."

Sharla smirked at the man, her fascination of him turned into a crush, they flirted all the time. "I'll see your crazy butt when I get out then."

And she did. Shortly after Sharla was released from prison for the fourth time, she and Ice began a relationship. Ice never thought he would find anybody he had so much in common with, but he did and she loved him as much as he loved her.

Sharla accepted Ice for Ice. Like all women, she dreamed of her wedding day since she was a little girl, but for him she settled for an engagement and a wedding five minutes after.

Ice and Sharla also chose to stay in Rudolph's bedroom, after all, it was the best room in the house and the bed seemed to be good luck for conception.

Jasmin began to spend more time with Shayne, she was over at the main house every day now that her favorite uncle was living there.

Of course she couldn't give Shayne all the attention with crazy Cupid around.

"What is with you two? If I didn't know you were related I'd think you and Shayne were dating." Cupid was teased all the time.

The experience of living with Ice and Sharla was completely different from living with Feliz and her husband. Sharla was welcomed with open arms by her husband's niece and nephews. The majority of her pregnancy was spent with the teenagers who demanded her attention.

When she wasn't hanging out with the teens, she was working out in front of the TV.

Sharla, even though she was getting rounder every day, she kept herself looking good. She made sure to get pampered, she even got a makeover, she she had to get fatter, she would be one sexy fatty.

Sharla was the center of attention in the main house, when Ice was able to pry her away from the teenagers, he smothered her in kisses and held her. He also doted on his unborn child, listening to his wife's stomach, talking to it or just rubbing it. He was more than ready to be a father.

With peace restored, Cupid spent time with his younger brother, playing video games and talking about girls. For Shayne, it meant a lot more than Cupid thought, his brother had finally stopped seeing him as a bratty little kid. And the way Cupid roughed him up, he had started to think that his brother didn't like him, but seeing the way Cupid stood up for him against Feliz and Pawel, he knew that Cupid was more than his brother, he was his protector and best friend.

"Sharla, I think it's time for you to kick back, the baby could come at any time."

Sharla grinned at her husband, "Baby, a body like mine is hard to come by, I've got to keep it in shape." She strode past him and spanked him on the butt.

Apparently though, Ice was right. Sharla had done only one squat when water gushed out of her. "Oh crud." She mumbled. "Shayne! Your limo's outside, Ice, Cupid, I'm in labor!!!"

Shayne wanted to be the one to go to the hospital and witness the birth but Jasmin had asked him to the prom and Cupid had threatened to mash his face in if he stood her up, plus, Jazzy was his favorite cousin and he couldn't let her down even if he wanted too.

The reason for Cupid's being at the hospital during the birth of the twins was to keep his uncle calm, Ice could get very hysterical and Sharla didn't need the extra stress of a screaming husband while she was pushing two babies out of her.

Courtney was Daddy's Litte Princess the moment she entered the world.

Justin though was being treated like a little man, his father and cousin didn't lavish him with love and tenderness like they did his sister, they treated him roughly, like a real Winter man.

He was preferred to his sister by his cousins though, as fast as one boy put Justin down, the other one would pick him up.

The Winter man house fell into the routine of caring for the twins, diaper changes, feedings and naps ran like clockwork. Cupid had made a name for himself around town, his outspokenness and people skills made him a local celebrity. His family restaurant, Agnes' Specialty Dining especially. One day he ran into a person who was quite familiar with him.

"Cupid Winter." The woman smiled at him warmly. "I haven't seen you since you were toddling around Rudy's feet. How's your brother?"

Cupid was taken aback, he wondered how this woman knew him. "Uh...he's fine."

"He should be sixteen now, right?"

Cupid blinked. "Yeah."

"Well, you're his big brother, I think you're treating him well."

"He's my little brother, of course I look out for him."

"Does he look as much like your father as you do?"

Cupid smirked, "There was only enough sexy for one, I'm sorry. But he's doing pretty well in the looks department. He's smarter than me though, he's going places, that's for sure."

The woman smiled, "That's good to know, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your father. You continue to take care of your brother."

As Cupid and the woman conversed, he was oblivious to the many pairs of glowing eyes on him. One woman in particular memorized that handsome face, it would be her pleasure to carry out her mission.

Cupid had started to head home when a woman stepped into his path. "Cupid Winter, it is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Shawn."

"Well Shawn, it's nice to meet you too." He shook her icy hand, her glowing blue eyes seemed to look into his soul. "You are perfect." She whispered lovingly, though he would never remember their meeting.

Ice was in the dining room writing the last thank you card for wedding gifts, it had taken a year but finally he was done. He looked up from the letter he was trying to fold as perfectly as Sharla did, in time to see his nephew walk past the archway as if in a trance.

The next day Cupid met his mother in the park. He stared up at her, boldly he asked her why she wasn't in his life. She smiled and placed a loving hand on his shoulder. "Because it hurts to look at you." She answered truthfully. "I've seen you around Cupid, you don't just look like Rudolph, you act like him too."

Cupid looked at his shoes, "I understand my duties as heir and I've learnt from my father's mistakes. I would never put any woman through what he's put you through. Because I'm confident doesn't mean I'm sleazy."

Leia ran a hand over her son's cheek, "That's good to know." She kissed him on the forehead, then the next cheek and walked away. Cupid watched her go, his heart breaking. She had promised him that she would get to know him, spend time with him and Leia had actually started to, then suddenly she stopped. She ignored his calls and avoided him in public and it hurt him so much.

Cupid drowned his sorrows in sugar, he had to. He was the backbone of Jack Winter's legacy, he had to be strong, so he would eat cake and then pull himself back together. He would repress the hurt and pain his mother caused him, he would not class all women as heartless bitches, he wouldn't make hasty decisions like his father did either, he would wait for a woman he loved before he married and had children, sot hat his children wouldn't have to endure what he and his brother did. His kids would have both parents and be surrounded by love.

"My birthday's in a few days." Cupid said to Shayne. "Uncle Ice's gonna be moving out and then everything will be up to me."

Shayne stared at his brother uncertainly, Cupid continued to speak. "Everything is riding on the decisions I make, what if i mess up?"

Shayne realized that Cupid, the guy he always looked up to had come to him for advice, it was his time to say that everything would be alright, his turn to be the one giving comfort. "Q, you've been preparing for this your entire life. It's impossible for you to not be prepared. And you've shown how capable and competent you are when Aunt Feliz and Pawel were here."

Cupid stared at his brother. "You know, I'm gonna be the adult which means that if you step outta line I get to ground you, and give you a time out."

Shayne laughed, then he realized that Cupid was staring blankly. "What if I mess up? I mean, Dad messed up big, neither of us have our mothers because he broke their hearts, then he died on us." He shrugged. "I'm just like him."

"Is that what you're using to predict our family's future?" Shayne made sure he had his brother's attention before he spoke. "You're gonna do great, and if you mess up...well then the legacy's mine." He chuckled.

"The first thing I'm gonna do is get rid of this house." Cupid said. "I mean, I wanna modernize it. It's pretty obvious that Grandpa had another room added every time he needed more space, but this time I want there to be some kind of plan you know."

"It had to reflect your celebrity status you know, say, super start party."

Cupid smiled finally. "You are too, I mean, you're not as awesome or as sexy as I am but you're up there."

"Right! Of course."

Cupid motioned at the man with the notepad who had just taken their pictures. "I'm going to make this property private, these paparazzi assholes have no respect of privacy."

Shayne smiled. "See, that's why you're going to be fine. You actually give a damn about our family and it's future."

Soon it was time for a triple birthday. Ice's twins grew up into blond and black haired cuties. It was still too early to tell which of their parents they would favor though.

Then it was time for Cupid's birthday. He stared at the candles and didn't have to thing long about his wish. He would never tell anyone what he wished for because it was not like him to be sentimental and he had a reputation to live up to, but he wished that everything would be right with his family, he wished for the strength to make the best decisions for them and that he would do right by them. In that moment he realized just how much he loved each and everyone of them, even Feliz and her jackass husband, because her putting him through test was his ultimate test and by asserting his authority he felt like he did pretty well. Yes he would be a great heir, he would leave his mark on this legacy.

Cupid had not given himself credit for his academic achievements, he was voted valedictorian of his class and most artistic. The Winter Legacy heir was ready to take on the world and all it's challenges.

Sunset Valley's graveyard had two unusual visitors that night. The pair were snooping around looking for something.

"This one was weak minded, unlike his son." Shawn said to her mate. "He was much too weak, couldn't control himself. I could not have him causing trouble for my council or breeding weaklings into my clan."

"Was it really necessary to get rid of him my love?"

"It was, do you know what would happen if the humans found out about us?"

"Shawn my darling, I do not wish to sound judgmental, but it sounds as if you want the young Winter for yourself." Cameron struggled to hide the jealousy in his voice.

"Perhaps I do."

  1. This was such a wonderful, sometimes fun, sometimes serious chapter. I enjoyed it a lot, and I had to laugh at your explanation for emergency substitute. How creative. As for those two sneaking around at the cemetery, I shudder to think what they're up to. I hope they won't be raising the dead.

  2. Cupid really matured as he grew older! He will make a great heir just like his grandfather, because he loves his family so much! I hope he finds the right person to marry.

The vampires worry me though! Why are they so interested in the Winters?

I was so happy for Ice. He found someone who really suits him and loves him and his family.

    The twins were so cute!

    Loved it Kendrea!
