Winter Legacy -3.6-

Rudolph was worried about his father, Claus had not been the same since Snowie died. Rudolph had caught the man staring into space on more than one occasion.

"I'm having a little get together, Snowie's girls are going to be coming over." Claus said one day as he limped into the house.

Snowflake and Coco came to Claus' get together, Chanel said that she had something else to do so she couldn't make it. Snowflake got right to meting her cousins, Ice and Rudolph took to her right away. Snowflake was quite excited to meet her cousins, she was a talker, she started telling them everything from school to boys to how much she missed her mother.

Rudolph pointed Cupid out to her and told Snowflake that his son would be going to high school soon. Rudolph looked up when is father gave an excited yelp, he couldn't help but smile, being surrounded by family was all the man needed.

Rudolph's last conversation with Snowie came back to him and he realized that she was right, he promised himself that he would make a better effort to stay in touch with his siblings and cousins.

Navidad had given his father a picture of Jasmin which Claus delightedly added to his wallet pictures of Cupid and Shayne, now all three of his grandchildren smiled up at him from the leather pouch. Navidad was taken aback by his father's excitement, he had no idea the picture would affect the man that way, he just thought of it as giving his father a photograph of his granddaughter. Claus' reaction warmed Navidad's heart.

Ice spent time with his youngest nephew. Shayne wasn't much of a talker, but there was something about the kid that Ice liked. "Damn boy, look at that hair!" He observed the thick fluffy mane his nephew sported.

Shayne looked up at his uncle, he had heard stories about the man. Apparently this uncle was supposed to be weird and talk out of his head, but Shayne had yet to see him do that, he was even dressed for the formal occasion like Claus had asked.

Mistletoe however, lived up to her reputation of being insane. She stalked the sand castle her nephew had built and as soon as Shayne turned away, she proceeded to destroy it.

Before he left, Ice went to check on his eldest nephew, the boy was fast asleep. He shrugged, he would see Cupid tomorrow morning at his birthday party. Ice couldn't wait to see what the boy would turn out to be. He found himself day dreaming about his own teenage years, hell yeah! Those were the days!

The party didn't kick off until evening though, Rudolph was not at all happy to see Leia step into the room, he had no idea who invited her. Guilt and anger overcame him immediately.

Cupid though was ecstatic to reconnect with his mother. He was, after all, oblivious to the whole situation that happened between his parents.

Leia gave her son the thumbs up, pleased with the way he turned out, but it was painful to look at him because he looked so much like his father.

They agreed to spend some time together, as far as Cupid was concerned this was the best birthday present ever.

Then his grandma gave him the keys to the car and told him to hop into the driver's seat, now it was the best birthday ever!

Cupid drove slowly, concentrating very hard on the center line and the side of the road, suddenly a car zoomed behind them, the horn blaring loudly. Freaked, Cupid swerved, the driver pulled up along side them and stuck his tongue out.

"Son of a bitch!" Cupid roared at his father, Rudolph chuckled and swung in front of them causing Cupid to swerve again. "What the f...!!" He blew his horn at his father, Rudolph blew his horn back then sped off down the road.

Cupid stopped the car panting, he looked at his grandmother, Regan clutched her chest, her eyes were opened as wide as they could go. "You two are idiots!" Regan shouted when she was finally able to speak. Rudolph and Cupid were close, even when Cupid was a baby, but now that Cupid was a teenager she was afraid of the mischief he and his father would get into.

Regan swapped seats with Cupid and carried them back home. Shayne had a friend over for the night, she made sure they pulled out their sleeping bags and went to sleep.

Meanwhile, Rudolph was across town at a party, he was completely wasted. He was so gone that common sense didn't kick in when he went to the bathroom and a man let himself in behind him. He giggled like a school girl in love when the guy grabbed his hand and pushed the cloth back from his wrist.

Rudolph stopped laughing immediately though when the guy sank his teeth into the soft flesh at his wrist though. He was too drunk to even fight off the man as he slurped greedily at the gushing blood. Rudolph would eventually become light headed and pass out, but in the morning he wouldn't remember any of it.

Regan grumbled to herself as she fixed breakfast the next morning, she was still not amused about the foolish stunt Rudolph had pulled. When he stumbled into the house earlier that morning, Regan ordered him to the bathroom and demanded that he take Cupid out. Rudolph complained about a hangover and crawled up the stairs to bed.

"Man, you are crazy!" Cupid told his father when Rudolph finally rose.

"Thank you, I try." Rudolph grinned, he enjoyed the close connection he had to his eldest son, they were more like best friends than father and son.

"You could have killed us yesterday."

"Not my fault you can't drive dude."

A flat tire some ways from home forced the men to pull over and begin the walk home. Cupid punched his father in the arm, Rudolph punched him back and it turned into a game of Say Uncle that neither of them wanted to lose.

Rudolph took the opportunity to tell his son about the birds and the bees. "Oh yuck Dad, what the hell!"

"Well, it's the truth, but as nasty as it sounds you'll enjoy it." Rudolph laughed at his son's disgusted look then put Cupid in a head lock.

They were still goofing off on the road when Rudolph's phone rang, his eyebrows came together at his mother's panicked tune. "Mom? Wh-what's going on?"

  1. Rudolph still has not matured! I guess there is not hope of him doing that!

I'm glad that Claus enjoyed the party. Leia had a right to see her son age up! Cupid loves his mother and I'm glad that he still has a relationship with her. It's not his fault that his parents made such a mess of things!

What was wrong with Regan? I can't wait to find out. I hope it wasn't something bad!
