Winter Legacy -4.6-

"Arrrrrrgggg!!! I be Cap'n Jack Sparra!" Angel giggled as she played alone out back.

"Bath and bedtime hun!" Cupid called to his daughter, she hopped off the toy ship and skipped into the house.

"Read Unicorn Daddy." Angel demanded, Cupid sighed.

"You're a little rough-neck you know that? Did you invite your cousin over?"

"Yes Daddy."

"Good girl."

Cupid plopped down beside his daughter and read a couple chapters of the new book. Angel's bright eyes twinkled up at him, "One more chapter, please Daddy?" Of course he couldn't say no to that face.

He stood up and stuck his hands in his pockets, a few days ago he and Hayley had a huge argument, he was not happy at all about his wife changing his brother, even though her reasoning made a lot of sense he just hated the thought of Hayley drinking from his brother. It was bad enough that his children were born damned, but now for Shayne to have to watch the two people he loved the most grow old and die while he remain timeless...

The next night, Cupid was surprised to see that Angel had not only invited her cousin but another child as well. He had bought a cake for his son's birthday but Comet decided that he wanted a bit of privacy.

He also grew into a clone of his father.

Teresa came over in a very interesting outfit, she wanted to play queen and servant, of course her cousin wanted to be the queen, they got into a huge argument, neither willing to relent. It ended when Angel bit her on the hand and Teresa ran off screaming for her uncle.

"Bedtime!" Cupid roared, he was embarrassed at his daughter's actions but offered to read his niece a story to make her feel better. Teresa laughed loudly, her uncle was the best story teller ever, she could actually see the pictures in her head!

All three children and the one teenage boy crowded into the children's room. Angel refused to share a bunk-bed with her cousin and slept on the floor snug in a sleeping bag, Cupid let her know that they would talk about her behavior after their guests left.

Cupid and Hayley practiced their instruments, they usually practiced late at night to early in the morning when they were at their peak, the children were heavy sleepers so the instruments didn't bother them. Cupid told Hayley about Angel's behavior and her biting her cousin.

"She didn't draw blood did she?"

Cupid shook his head, "No, I checked out Teresa's hand myself."

Comet continued to spend time alone, he took to the dress-up chest.

Eventually Giggles came out to play as well, but his human was more preoccupied with the new chemistry set. The boy stood before the table mixing chemicals the entire day, finally though, after the had learnt all he could he got bored and turned to his friend who had waited patiently all day.

"Do you want to go outside and play?"

Comet changed into his royal regalia and followed the only person he actually spoke to outside.

Before they went to bed that night, Angel cornered her brother. "Here's the thing Comet, you're going to stay out of my head and actually speak to me."

Comet stared at his big sister, she frightened him. "Uh...you wanna talk about our imaginary friends?"

"Sure, and then tomorrow you can play with me."

The following day Angel woke her brother bright and early, they raced to the playground outside.

Angel changed into a beautiful periwinkle dress, Puzzles giggled his approval. "Right then, to the castle!!!"

Cupid had built a crude castle of scrap wood and cardboard for his children, he knew it wouldn't be long before his daughter demanded that he painted it.

"We're playing Rapunzel Comet, I'm Princess Rapunzel, you have to ask me to let down my beautiful long hair."

"Can I just come up instead?"

"Yeah, if you'll say it."

Angel made demands of of brother that he was surprisingly willing to carry out, he had spent his entire life inside the girl's head, he understood how she worked even better than Puzzles did, Angel meant well, she was just confused about how to make her wishes known.

"You know Angel, if you ask people nicely sometimes, you'll get what you want a lot faster."

"Nah, if I ask there's a chance that they'll say no."

It was dark out when Cupid finally left the house to make an appearance at a night club, Hayley was finally able to call the children in for dinner, baths and bed. Cupid was so fascinated by his children interacting that he didn't want the moment to end. From his vantage point at the window he could see Comet's lips moving, Cupid was quite sure that his daughter would push her brother or attack him in some way, but she was actually civil to him. When Hayley made to call the children inside he would whine, "Five minutes more."

    1. Thanks for reading Daisies. Lol Angel scares me, if she really existed she would be one person that I'd risk my life to avoid
