Winter Legacy -4.7-

Cupid had come into the kids room when he returned home, he smiled at his kids light snores. His eyes rested on the two dolls sitting on the floor beside the bed, frowning he picked them up and put them beside the book case.

The dolls though, were having none of it, as soon as Cupid left the room they jumped back to the bed, where they waited patiently for the kids to wake up.

Hayley leaned causally against the bathroom door, "You're home."

"Yeah, and I need to take a shower." Cupid winked at his wife, she chuckled and went into the bathroom, Cupid giggled like a school girl and skipped into the bathroom behind Hayley.

It wasn't long before she was throwing up, Hayley frowned at the bile in the toilet, she was fine with the two kids they had and wasn't at all excited about another one.

Hayley and Cupid had started a band they called Epic Love and although they were celebrities they had to start from scratch, which meant camping out in the park playing instruments for tips and hoping to get gigs.

Even after the new baby had made itself known, a heavily pregnant Hayley would go into town and strum her guitar.

She had Cupid put a lot into their music, sometimes they could only crawl into bed from exhaustion.

Comet began taking advantage of his parents absences, he stayed at the chemistry table, Delvin the butler never sent him to bed and his sister was too busy doing her own thing to care about her brother's activities.

One night he had a mishap and decided that perhaps karma was trying to teach him a lesson.

Hayley, although she had learnt all she could in the music field, she would still spend her time with one of the instruments.

Cupid was a lot more popular around town than his wife though, and he usually made double what she did in less time.

Sometimes though, being superhuman made Cupid forget his limitations, and being in the sun all day took its toll on him.

Hayley was near busting with baby and she had finally taken the time to worry. She and Cupid spent all of their time on their band, Delvin was already raising Angel and Comet, but she and Cupid did spend time with the children while they were growing up, Hayley would hate to neglect this baby because of work.

"Relax." Cupid told his wife as he kneaded the knots out of her back.

"I can't!" She whined, "It's not like we even need the money, we started the band because we got bored with our lives. We're millionaires so we don't need to work, we own every freaking business in town..."

"Baby, take a breath." Cupid chuckled. "So we won't be able to spend as much time with our baby as we did with its siblings, it'll know that we love it just the same, and we'll spend time with all of our children when we could."

Meanwhile, Comet was just about to see his experiments come to fruition. He had an unfathomable understanding of time and space and life itself. He could concoct a chemical to do anything. He stared at his best friend.

"Giggles, I have an idea but I wish to try it out before I..." He blushed, "Burn myself again."

And then with his mind alone Comet solidified the atoms in his mind, changed the makeup of the space before him. The air around the being began to bubble and spark and twist.

All of a sudden, standing before Comet was a boy who was his complete opposite, exactly what he'd imagined Giggles to be. "Hmm, my hypothesis is correct it seems."

Giggles moved his hands across his body, stuck them out in front of him and twiddled his fingers. "Oh...my..." He giggled, "This is amazing."

"Yes, quite." Comet said dryly. "I'll call you Gio from now on, now I'll go work on my formula and think of a way to explain you to Dad."

Comet didn't have to worry about his explanation until the next day though, his mother went into labor. When his parents finally arrived home, they brought a new baby girl called Star.

Cupid hadn't slept in 24 hours he was exhausted, which is why he thought he'd imagined the blue and black haired boy sitting beside him.

"Hello Mr. Winter."

Cupid blinked stupidly, "The fuck are you?" He mumbled then covered his mouth with his hand, so far he'd kept his party mouth at bay in an effort to set an example for his children.

"My name's Giggles, I'm Comet's imaginary friend..."

Cupid stared at the boy's clothes and realized that they did resemble the suit the creature his son had shown him on more than one occasion.

As if to prove his point, Giggles hopped off the chair and shifted. Cupid giggled manically, "I think I need to lie down." He scratched his head. "How is it that I'm interacting with you?"

"I'm real now, Comet made me a real boy."

"Well...call me Geppetto and feed me to a whale."

Cupid went upstairs and took a quick shower, then he proceeded to play with his newest daughter. "Why aren't you in my head?" He asked his daughter before putting her in her crib and heading to bed himself.

"Angel, your brother's imaginary friend is real...don't you want me to be real?"

Angel looked at Puzzles, "Um, it would be kinda cool to have you go to school with me." She knew what he was hinting at, "I'll tell Comet to change you."

However, Puzzles ended up waiting all day, he finally went in search of his human. "Angel...did you ask your brother?"

"I haven't yet, I'll get to it though."

"It doesn't sound like you want me to be a real boy."

"I said I'll do it, now get off my back Puzzles!" She snapped.

Angel kept putting off asking her brother though, it was weird, imaginary friends were...well, imaginary. She went to get some breakfast and found herself face to face with Giggles.

"Hi Angel!" He greeted her with a wide grin.

"You're stupid." She told him. "You're supposed to remain inside my brother's mind."

Hurt Giggles ran away to find the nicer Winter child.

"You don't want me to be real." Puzzles said, "I thought you were my friend Angel."

"Save it you wuss. I am your friend, which is why you should trust me. You want to be real so I'll make sure that you get your wish."

Angel stormed away, Puzzles started to go after her but decided that it would be best for his dignity if he stayed where he was. It wasn't fair, he was the first imaginary friend, he should have been turned first.

Hayley, being a vampire, needed no time off. She took a day to bond with her baby, then she and her husband took to the streets.

As she strummed her own guitar, Hayley took a look at her husband and a cold chill ran down her spine. She had come so close to losing him and there was a chance that when Shawn saw fit she would. But it wasn't just Cupid, Hayley had a life now and she was loving every day of it, her children were her main priority and Shawn demanded one of them, most likely Comet.

Mentally Hayley swore, her second chance at happiness and Shawn lingered over her head, like a bandit who would steal everything away from her.

After two hours, Cupid decided to switch things up, he whipped out the keyboard and he and Hayley started a jam session. He could see that something was wrong, but Hayley had blocked him from her mind so he had no idea what, he would have to remember to ask her about it later.

Chanel went up to her cousin's wife with a notepad, "Hayley, this is going to sound so weird, but can I have your autograph? I can sell it on Ebay for a few hundred bucks."

This pulled Hayley from her dark mood for a minute, "Sure Chanel."

The following morning, Angel had finally caught up with her brother. "Here's the thing, your imaginary friend is real, it's only fair that mine is too."

Comet gave his sister one of his blank looks. "No it's not. Giggles was willing to participate in an experiment of mine. Plus, you're mean to me all the time, why should I do anything for you?  The last thing I need is to have another bully pushing me around."

The children got ready for school, Puzzles stoood watching as they all ran off to school leaving him alone. He was building some animosity against Giggles and his human's brother.

Cupid and Hayley continued to perform, eventually they would start getting gigs at clubs, but for the time being, people enjoyed not having to pay to see the the Winters. The paparazzi were especially happy for these opportunities.
